Truckee-Tahoe Lumber Company, a leader in the lumber and building materials industry in the Northern Sierra Region, is celebrating its 85th year in business.
The company has a rich history in the Truckee-Tahoe region. The company was incorporated on May 28, 1931 by the Robie family of Auburn, California. The family sold the company to Charles Burton Cross in 1950, after 11 years of co-ownership. Since then, four generations of Cross’ have lead the company in continued growth; opening Home Concepts Design Resource Center, the Home Concepts Door Shop, and a 30,000 sf indoor lumber yard and hardware store in Sparks, Nevada.
As the company flourishes under the current ownership of Andrew and Ira Cross, the ushering in of a new era is occurring. The company is expanding in to new markets, planning for future growth, and staying on the forefront of change in the region.
This new era also brings with it a new company brand. Working with designers Kelly Conley (a Truckee local) and Thom Ruszkiewicz, the clean, modern look of the new logo represents forward movement as the company looks towards the future and its 100th year.
The company will celebrate its anniversary with a party and the new logo unveiling on May 26, 2016 at 5:00 at its Truckee Yard.
